The easiest, most scenic and most technical trails to try in Little Tibet
Skiing in Livigno at least once in a lifetime is the dream of every snow and winter sports enthusiast, but to experience all the variety and richness of the Livigno ski area, one day on skis is not enough: the slopes are so numerous that it is almost impossible to ski them all at once. If you come skiing in Livigno, you will have to make choices: in this article we recommend some of the most beautiful slopes, but all of them are worth a try.
Easy slopes (blue)

The colour blue identifies the easiest slopes on which to ski in Livigno: there are many of them and they are distributed throughout the ski area, but they are obviously more concentrated in the town's ski lifts and in the so-called "campetti" (small fields) in the centre. Among the blue slopes to try in Livigno are:
- the Bellavista slope, an easy slope at high altitude, which descends gently from the Valandrea-Vetta chairlift to the Costaccia refuge, offering - as the name suggests - a splendid panoramic view of the valley below;
- the Valandrea I and Valandrea II pistes, the ski slopes of the Valandrea ski area, to the left and right of the ski lifts respectively. They can be accessed either by ski lift or chairlift - in the latter case at a higher altitude - and allow skiing on gentle slopes, perfecting style and technique, not without fun;
- the Degli Amanti slope, an evocative name that expresses the charm of this track which, after an initial phase at altitude (the start is at the arrival point of the Mottolino gondola lift), enters the larch and fir forest and descends to the village in a truly evocative setting. The gentle slopes (around 18%) along the more than 2 km length allow you to look around and breathe in this atmosphere.
Medium (red) slopes

The red slopes are the ideal middle ground for skiing on slopes that are not too steep but steep enough to test one's skiing skills. There are plenty of them in Livigno, but the most popular ones are:
- the Polvere slope at the Carosello 3000, so called because the snow here is always in optimal condition thanks to its exposure, plus the remarkable panoramic view. It starts at the arrival of the Carosello gondola and leads all the way to the intermediate station, with a varied course;
- the Li Zeta slope, the new slope in Livigno where the first historic World Cup SuperG was held in the Valtellina resort at the end of 2025, in the Sitas area. In addition to the finish in the village and its width, one of the most interesting points is the passage near some old wooden huts, typical of Livigno (discover the track);
- the Sponda Fis slope, in the Mottolino ski area, is one of Livigno's longest (1,650 metres) and most technical red runs, and is used by professional teams for training. It starts at the arrival of the new Sponda chair lift and leads to the start of the chair lift, covering an altitude difference of 445 metres.
Black slopes for expert skiers

There are a total of 11 black slopes in Livigno, located both on the Mottolino-Trepalle ski area side and on the Carosello 3000-Sitas side. These are steep and technical tracks that require skill and ski control, and are therefore only recommended for experienced skiers. The best black runs in Livigno are:
- the Giorgio Rocca slope (no. 26), perhaps the most famous slope in the Livigno ski area, dedicated to the great alpine skiing champion from Livigno. It is 1,300 metres long and is located within the Mottolino ski area, starting at the arrival point of the Teola-Pianoni Bassi chairlift. From here, at an altitude of 2,360 metres, you swoop down towards the start of the lift, with a total height difference of 445 metres. The gradients reach a maximum of 57%, in one of the three walls into which the slope is divided, alternating with stretches of greater flow that make the slope less difficult than others;
- the Zuelli sl ope at Carosello 3000, which at over 2600 metres is one of the longest slopes in Livigno, is a single track that runs from the top of the Altavista chairlift (lift no. 16) down to the start of the Carosello cable car, covering a difference in altitude of 865 metres. This black slope alternates between different stages, some more technical and others more scenic through the woods, but the most challenging section is undoubtedly the final wall, where the gradients shoot up to almost 50%, putting even the best skiers in difficulty.
