It was a crazy season... see you next winter!

30 April 2026

A review of the skiing year in Livigno at the Valandrea Ski Area

The 2025/26 ski season at the Ski Area Valandrea in Livigno officially closed on 24 April: after something like 147 uninterrupted days of skiing, snowboarding, fun and passion, we can say that this year has been a great experience too. And indeed we are ready to live it again next winter!

An Olympic season: the Winter Games on the slopes of Livigno

Skiingin Livigno this year was different than in the past: while the ski area was populated with skiers and sportsmen, the work for the Olympic Games was in full swing. The month of February 2026 has in fact entered Livigno's history: for three weeks the attention of the whole world was focused on our resort, which hosted all snowboard and freeski competitions of the Winter Olympic Games Milano-Cortina 2026. Already starting with the Opening Ceremony with a widespread formula, we began to breathe in the Olympic atmosphere, watching the athletes' parade at the same time as the San Siro Stadium and the other host cities. And then, in the following days, Livigno was the theatre of exciting challenges between the best world interpreters of the two disciplines and of some historical results for the Italian sport: unforgettable, among the others, the silver medal of Michela Moioli in the snowboard cross, the gold-silver double medal of Deromedis and Tomasoni in the ski cross and the first Italian medal in the history of acrobatic skiing, won by Flora Tabanelli.

Before the five-ring event there was another first of great value for Livigno: the first Alpine Skiing World Cup race held in the ski resort of our valley, with the men's Super-G on 27 December 2025 (replacing the traditional downhill of Bormio) won by Austrian Schwarz on the Li Zeta slope built for the occasion.

The ski season at the Valandrea Ski Area

Ski slopes of the Valandrea Ski Area in Livigno

While all these events were being staged in Livigno, topped off by the associated side events, here at the Valandrea Ski Area we were doing what we do best: skiing, and putting everyone in the best conditions for it. The ski slopes and lifts at Valandrea, in the centre of Livigno, have always remained open since the beginning of the season, allowing skiing even during the Olympic period when other slopes were closed or limited; the ski instructors of our school taught skiing to children and beginners of all ages and nationalities, initiating dozens and dozens of future skiers and snowboarders into the snow; the Valandrea slope, when the lifts closed in the evening, hosted groups of young (and not so young) people who battled it out on adrenalin-filled snowkarts, racing down the snow at full speed under the floodlights.

All this with a modern facility fully operational and full of services for skiers: from parking in the centre in front of the slopes to personal lockers for storing personal belongings and equipment, to the ski pass cash desk.

And now? In Livigno, the snow melts and thesummer arrives, and the valley fills with tourists and sportsmen and women who devote themselves to the countless activities in nature and in the mountains: some of our services, such as the car park with electric car charging stations and the Livigno bus waiting time display at the Valandrea bus stop (click here to find out) remain active at all times.

Then winter will come again. We will be there waiting for the first snow, and beating it with our cats. Because we can't wait to start skiing again: see you for the winter season 2026/27 in Livigno... stay tuned!
